Exes reach out during radio silence all the time. It makes the process of breakup recovery that much harder. Ignoring an ex is a common hurdle to face during breakup recovery. There are so many clients who reach out to us saying, “I’m trying really hard to stay in radio silence, I’m trying really hard to not reach out to my ex. But they keep reaching out to me. What do I do?”

If you are watching this video, you’re not alone. Don’t panic. If anything, this is a really good sign. It means they miss you. And it means they’re looking for validation from you, and they want to make sure they still have access to you. They’re having a difficult time in this breakup, which means that if you are having a difficult time too, you are not alone here.

Remember, your ex invested as much into this relationship as you did. Chances are, they’re really struggling. Even if they ask you to leave them alone, it’s normal that they reach out. They want to know how forgettable they were, they want to know how you’re doing.

So, first and foremost, if you’re watching this video because your ex is reaching out to you during radio silence, it’s pretty good news. You’re in good shape. It means they care.

But, that doesn’t mean that we abandon our plan and start reaching out all the time. It does not mean that we’re going to be endlessly available, it does not mean that we’re going to start begging and pleading for them back, and we’re going to ask them, “Please come home and let’s try this again.” None of that is going to happen, now.

The benefits of radio silence are that it gives you an opportunity to change. If the breakup happens, it’s because something went wrong, because we, or they, or something was falling short throughout the course of your time together. And because of this thing, or person, or quality the relationship was unsustainable and couldn’t survive.

The only way to fix this is to make improvements, and it’s really hard to make those improvements while you’re in constant communication with your ex. It’s going to be really hard to come from behind the curtain and say, “Hey, I’m different,” if they’ve been chatting with you everyday. How different could you possibly be? You’ve been chatting with them everyday! It invalidates your changes. It lessens your credibility, and credibility is essential in re-attracting your partner.

Radio silence also lets your ex miss you. They are not going to recognize how important you are to them if they never actually lose you. Your ex is reaching out because they want to make sure that you’re still there, that this option is still available to them, that they can return. It gives them the peace of mind.

Finally, radio silence gives you an opportunity to let them know that you’re listening.
