Pregnant? Is rolling over in bed painful? Low back & pelvic pain advice by myPhysioSA for her

Low back & pelvic pain is very common in pregnancy. One of the worst activities is trying to roll over in bed. Jane, a Senior Womens Health Physiotherapist at myPhysioSA for her, discusses what causes low back & pelvic pain during pregnancy, and gives advice on the do & dont's of how to move whilst pregnant so as to avoid aggravating your pain.
The main pelvis joints behind are called the sacro-iliac joints, and in front they are called the pubic symphysis. If you load more on one side of your pelvis or too much on one leg then this can place more pressure on one side and you are more likely to get pain. Jane explains that keeping your pelvis symmetrical whilst rolling in bed, getting in/out of the car or chair etc will minimise the pressure on one side, helping to prevent pain.
