An after workshop review of the four hour Dance Manhattan Introduction to Swing Dance aerials workshop by Tony Fraser and Jaime Shannon for 19 Jan 2014.

Workshop content : Judo Throw, Back Flips 101, Frankie Snatch, Angel Fall exit from the Snatch, a simple cart wheel and the Crunch Toss.

Please remember the following about aerials and this workshop:

1) Safety is always more important than somebody nailing the aerial. Check out the blog records on tonyandjaime.com on this topic for more thoughts on this topic.

2) Be careful with the waterfall exit as it has a tendency to really slam the follower's head into the leader's hip bone if the entry isn't lined up correctly. Go slowly.

3) Show as much possible respect to the Frankie Snatch as humanly possible. It was given to us by Frankie Manning and performed in the movie Helzapoppin. To me and many other aerialists, it is almost limits because nobody has ever has done or ever will do it as awesomely as Frankie did. If you choose to take this on, damn sure make sure you have it nailed before you show it.
