3 things you need to do in your first week at a new job!

If you are starting a new job - congratulations!

It's an exciting time with a lot going on, but don't forget to make these three things happen to set yourself up for success:

1) Hold a "kickoff" meeting with your manager.
- Review job description.
- Get on the same page regarding expectations (set goals, etc).
- Develop a communication plan (how will you communicate, what is your schedule for 1:1s?).
- Make sure you have access to the right people, tools, information, and resources.
- SOMETIMES YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN - IT'S CALLED MANAGING YOUR MANAGER

2) Gather baseline data or metrics to show your progress and impact over time.
- Metrics could include revenue dollars, profit percentage, or average time to delivery.
- Develop a system to track this data.

3) Get to know your team.
- Learn names.
- Understand everyone's roles.
- Learn strengths of each team member.
