King Charles birthday message to Prince Harry stirs up ‘controversy’ online

King Charles' birthday message to Prince Harry last week has raised some eyebrows online.

It comes as the picture used in the birthday message appears to have been taken back in 2018 while Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle visited the Dogpatch startup hub in Dublin, Ireland.

However, the absence of Meghan Markle in the photo quickly drew attention, with some questioning if her exclusion was deliberate.

News.com.au Entertainment Reporter Bronte Coy joined Sky News host Caroline Di Russo to discuss the recent controversy on whether the Royal Family deliberately cropped Meghan Markel out of the photo.

“I mean there were fairly generic messages but it was the first time they had wished him a happy birthday in years,” Ms Coy said.

“So it was a tiny, a tiny shoot of hope. However, as is often the case with these things, it was quickly followed by a bit of controversy because the photo that they used for Harry, people pointed out that the original may have been one that had Meghan in it because it was taken in Dublin in 2018 when they were on a working royal tour.”
