Santa Cruz de Bravo 1901, the old capital of the then, newly formed territory of Quintana Roo 🇲🇽

A few years ago, tracing my great grand father’s steps, my travels took me to the then, 1901 newly formed territory of Quintana Roo, to explore its capital, Santa Cruz de Bravo, named after him for the pacification process, the old Chan Santa Cruz, funded by the Maya Cruzo’ob after the apparition of an object, “a mayan cross that talked to them”, and helped unify and battle the rapidly moving in forces of the federal government into their lands in the Yucatan peninsula, back in 1847-8, and the entry port to the territory, today abandoned, Vigia Chico, after a damaging hurricane, Janet, in 1955.
So, walk and explore with me what it is still there, a few hours drive from Cancun, away from the bustling touristic side of Quintana Roo…
