For example, 2025 marked the era of Starship version 2. That chapter has now closed, and the company is gearing up for an even bigger leap with Starship version 3 in 2026. This will be SpaceX’s largest upgrade yet, focusing on increased height, more powerful engines, and full reusability.
According to SpaceX and Elon Musk, v3 is designed to carry up to 200 tons to low Earth orbit in reusable mode, and roughly 300 tons if expendable. Fully stacked, the two-stage vehicle reaches a total height of 124.1 meters, slightly taller than the previous version, but still holding the record as the largest rocket ever built.

Just a few days ago, the company posted an update on X that stirred up quite a bit of attention, saying: “Starting with NG-3, we will phase in a series of upgrades to the New Glenn launch system designed to increase payload performance, launch cadence, and enhance reliability,” along with a link to a more detailed breakdown of those upgrades.
