Even though the latest Starship flight has concluded, the aftermath around the launch area remains a topic of great interest for space enthusiasts like us.

Honestly, it is becoming increasingly difficult to spot significant damage caused by Starship—particularly the Super Heavy booster with its 33 engines—on the launch pad and tower during liftoff. This improvement is thanks to SpaceX's continual adjustments and upgrades from previous launches.
Gone are the days of catastrophic destruction, like what we saw after Starship’s second flight, where the launch pad was left resembling a ruined volcano crater. By the third, fourth, and fifth launches, such devastating aftermaths had become a thing of the past. In fact, following Starship Flight 6, the damage is remarkably minor, even to the naked eye.
This progress is even more impressive considering the record-breaking turnaround time of just one month between Flight 5 and Flight 6—the shortest in Starship's development history. In that short span, SpaceX prepared a reliable launch pad and tower for Flight 6, and the results were far from disappointing.

From close-up inspections, the launch pad appears intact, with no visible damage or dislodged steel plates.
The Booster QD (Quick Disconnect) remains secure within its casing, albeit with some scorch marks and soot.
The tower’s base shows a few large black burn marks from the extreme heat, but these are superficial and don’t seem to affect its overall structure.
However, what we didn’t expect was an issue at the very top of the launch tower. A component that serves as a communication link between Super Heavy and the tower—resembling an antenna—sustained damage during Flight 6.
Initially, it was meant to remain upright. Yet, after Starship’s ascent, as the smoke cleared, it was visibly bent out of alignment.
This misalignment disrupted communication between the tower and the booster, ultimately leading SpaceX to abort its attempt to catch Super Heavy mid-air at the last moment.
