Current Affair (April 14, 1992) - "Showdown for the Sheriff"

The titular sheriff is Wallace, Idaho's long-serving sheriff Frank Crnkovich.
Crnkovich was charged with racketeering - accepting bribes from gambling establishments and houses of prostitution.

On screen interviews are with Brian Hanson (Wallace resident), Clark Sampont (Wallace Police Officer), Sam Eismann (attorney for Shoshone County).

Maureen O'Boyle is at the anchor desk; Frank Grimes, reporting.

Update: A mistrial was declared on November 6, 1992 because of a hung jury. Crnkovich was later acquitted on March 11, 1993.

The sheriff did admit to some wrongdoing, including taking money that was offered. However, Crnkovich claimed these were donations towards various group activities such as a Christmas party and a bowling trip.
