20/20 (Nov 10, 1989) - overcrowding in Florida jails

"Time Flies" is a segment on overcrowding in Florida prisons which resulted in inmates being released early after having considerable time shaved off their sentences.

Tom Jarriel is the reporter. Hugh Downs and Barbara Walters at the anchor desk.

On screen interviews with:
Francisco Chambers (inmate); Doyle Kemp (Administrator, Dept of Corrections); Bob Butterworth (Florida's Attorney General); Linda Santana (Assistant Administrator, Dept of Corrections); Richard Dugger (Secretary of Corrections); Michael Denmark (inmate); Scott McGhee (inmate); Ed Austin (State Attorney); Judge Hudson Olliff (Duval County, FL judge)

There is also brief coverage of Charlie Street, a violent inmate who killed 2 cops 10 days after his early release. In April 1995, Street died from multiple stab wounds he received in Florida's State Prison recreational yard.
