During the early hours of February 10, 1945, Steuben was torpedoed and sunk. There were approximately 4,500 casualties.

Tamatsu Maru was a Japanese landing craft depot ship that served during the Second World War.
On August 19, 1944, Tamatsu Maru was torpedoed and sunk. There were approximately 4,755 casualties.

Ryūsei Maru was a Japanese troop transport ship that served during the Second World War.
On February 25, 1944, Ryūsei Maru was torpedoed and sunk. There were nearly 5,000 casualties.
