15 Merciless Otters Crushing Their Prey and Attacking Their Enemies

Otter VS Caiman & Crocodile

The massive crocodiles in this footage don't seem to bother these otters in the least. No matter how large their opponent is, they will charge and attack. When attacked by larger predators like crocodiles, otters are known to band together and collaborate, as you can see in the following clips. These otters are on the lookout for a caiman and dive underwater to get a better look before retiring into the undergrowth. They look to have killed something, but it's tough to tell exactly what it is or what happened.

When a caiman approaches the den of a family of otters, Diablo, one of the otters leads the family to make sure the caiman remains as far away from the den as possible. The otters even attack the caiman, until the reptile decides to find refuge in the thickets of the marsh. The otter in this video is the assailant and the caiman thinks so too, as he retreats into the water when the otter gets too close for comfort. The otter swims in and out of the water to attack the caiman fearlessly.

Otter Hunts Octopus

This industrious sea otter was able to capture one of the world’s greatest escape artists, an octopus. And I can’t say he’s not enjoying his meal, so good for him. A few people taking a boat ride in the evening, after the sun sets, encounter an otter in the water eating an octopus. I guess otters hunt at all hours of the day.

A cute otter walks out of the water with a meal fit for a king, as he rips apart a small octopus, he was able to grab. The mother of two pups catches an octopus and brings it to shore, as the two cubs follow her and get rebuked, then sent away to catch their own food. Who needs enemies when you have a mother like this?
