Ep.3 Chapala lake - El Rosario Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary : “Birthday Fail!”

In this episode we are heading to El Rosario to witness the epic, incredible, mind-blowing, bucket list Monarch butterfly migration. Our launch point was Lake Chapala, roughly six hours east of #Chapala. Unexpectedly, our short stop turned into a fantastic morning strolling the Malecon, gazing at the colonial architecture of the city square and admiring the ornate centerpiece “Parroquia de San Francisco.” The lake is not only the largest freshwater lake in Mexico but also home to thousands of dove white Pelicans which makes Chapala lake’s even more alluring.
The next day of our journey we celebrated Kyle’s birthday in #ElRosario, Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. The best time to visit is between February and early March, but the butterflies can be seen anytime after December, so we gave it a shot.
