Ep. 9 - Isla Aguada - Vanlife Mexico 2021: Agua caliente, dolphins, and a little Surf surprise

We spent four days on beautiful Isla Aguada (Aguada Island), basking in its warm turquoise waters, frequent dolphin sightings and finally the cool breeze of the easterly winds. Isla Aguada is just a quick hop skip and a jump from its larger sister city, Cuidad Del Carmen, where you can get anything you might have forgotten before or after arriving to the island. The Island itself is located in the Northeast hook of the Yucatán Peninsula in the state of Campeche, Mexico. Isla Aguaga is connected by two bridges to the mainland #tollalert. On the island, travelers will find gorgeous beaches, mangrove coastlines and the pinnacle of the Island…Laguna de Terminos, where you can spot schools of dolphins throughout the day.

Quick Tips: If you visit Isla Aguada, we recommend you bring enough cash as there are no banks or ATMs. Bring your beach and swim gear as much of the city’s economy is focused on the fishing community, and be aware that there are several schools on this small island so the sale of alcohol is severely limited. Might want to stock up!
