How Many Sets Do You Really Need to Build Muscle With Calisthenics?

How many sets you need to do to build muscle is a popular debate these days. Some claim you only need 1-2 sets and anything above that is a waste of time. Others say you need a lot of volume so at least 4-5 sets is necessary for building muscle. And then, you have to consider if the recommendation should be different for building muscle with calisthenics and bodyweight training.

I've been on both sides of this debate over the years. Now, I'm starting to believe it may not have just one single answer.
