Seal Rescue: the ORIGINAL NET

Our seal rescue nets are probably our biggest asset at Ocean Conservation Namibia. In March 2019 after seeing some of Naude’s hand rescues on Instagram, Jeff Harris sent him a net. Jeff has been doing rescues for years with NOAA and reached out to Naude. Having this net now enabled him to catch bigger seals, and also make the whole process safer. It was an absolute game changer and the start of a whole new approach to seal rescues in Namibia. This net sadly didn’t last very long, and in June Jeff sent the orange net which you’ll see in most of our videos. 🦭
