In this video, Coach Simon Konov of Top Tennis Training is training with a top 100 ATP pro. Marsel Ilhan was ranked No77 on the ATP tour and has wins over Tommy Haas (French Open) and qualified for the Dubai ATP tournament, defeating Alexander Zverev and Feliciano Lopez in back-to-back matches before playing Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals.
Marsel is preparing for the 2023 season, and Coach Simon is getting back into tennis after three months off due to breaking one of his ribs in his last ITF masters tour match.

Training with A Top 100 ATP Pro - What's It Like?
It's not every day that you get to train with a player who has been at the highest level in tennis, the top 100 on the ATP tour. At the start of the practice session, I was struggling with the power from Marsel and it took me 15-20 minutes to adapt to the higher tempo and much faster pace than I'm normally playing against.
Hopefully, with the court-level view on this video, you'll get to see the tempo and pace of the training session and will understand how challenging it was to keep up with. I was trying to stay focused on keeping my backswings more compact and making contact out in front of my body. At the same time, trying to also exhale as I made contact, as when you're under pressure, the tendency is to hold your breath in.
This was no easy task and it will take me a few hitting sessions with Marsel to adapt properly and get back my own timing and feel for the ball, after playing so little tennis since early October.

This video will hopefully give you an insight into what it's like to train with a top 100 ATP pro and it may be one of the best tennis videos you'll watch in 2023!
