Perfect Contact Point in Tennis 🎾 Forehand - Backhand - Volleys - Serve

Perfect Contact Point in Tennis 🎾 Forehand - Backhand - Volleys - Serve
The most important part of every single tennis shot, is the contact point. You can do everything right with the backswing, get in the right position, load the legs, and drive into the shot. However, if the contact point is not ideal, the ball won't go where you want it to.
Open the strings too much, and the ball will fly upwards. Close the strings too much, and the ball will go into the net. Finding the perfect contact point comes down to three main things:
1. Preparing early to create time
2. Tracking the ball as it travels towards your racket
3. Timing your contact point to be out in front of your body

How To Find The Perfect Contact Point In Tennis
The first step in creating the perfect contact point is to create time for yourself.
This starts at the point of contact on your opponent's racket. Try to identify as early as possible, which side the ball is traveling to. Is it coming to your forehand? Your backhand? A drop shot?
As soon as you recognize which side the ball is coming to, start your preparation for the shot by coining the upper body and moving towards the direction of the ball.

The next stage is tracking the ball as it travels towards you, keeping laser-like focus on the ball as it travels over the net, bounces on your side, and finally rises up towards your strings.
This will set you up very well for a clean contact point.

And finally, the last step. Understanding exactly where you like and want to make contact is crucial. Is it head height? Shoulder height? Waist height?
Whichever zone it is, look to make contact when the ball has reached that height.
It's also important to make contact in front of your body. This is true for the forehand contact point, the backhand, on your volleys, and on the serve.
