Bon Jovi | Live at Olympic Stadium | Munich 2001

The legendary final concert of the European One Wild Night tour and the one that launched the myth about the band's concerts in Munich!
As great as the show was - as bad are the sources we have for it. But for anyone interested, I'll break it down. The first part was filmed from the right side, but most likely transferred onto VCD back in the day due to the poor pixilated picture. I used deblocking scripts, temporal smoothers and colour restoration to make it look okay. The audio was fairly decent for a recording of that kind. Since the right side of the stadium doesn't have a roof, the filmer stopped when the thunderstorm erupted during Something To Believe In. The rest is added from the back left side of the stadium. There is a roof which lead the filmer to continue filming, but which usually also makes every recording from there sound like shit. So I used the (also fairly poor) audio recording of the show to replace these parts. It's got a strange noise in there, but after some cleaning, the instruments are quite audible and okay. The video came from a VHS of mine back in the day and had all the settings added in the transferring process, so there wasn't anything changed now. What enhances it are that three songs, One Wild Night, You Give Love A Bad Name and I'll Be There For You actually came from the Soundboard. Only of Lay Your Hands On Me, there's no video at all, but a full audio recording is on Youtube anyway.
The show itself was stunning, especially after the thunderstorm came up, just as the band was playing Something To Believe In. Jon and Richie look up into the sky with big grins on their faces. Before Prayer, Jon throws his jacket onto the stage and launches the song - you can see on the screens how hard it was pouring down by then. But it only seemed to inspire the band.
