Flash floods hit drought-stricken southwestern US after months of scorching heat
After months of scorching heat, parts of the southwestern U.S. have been overwhelmed by heavy rains and flash flooding, with millions of Americans bracing themselves for even more flooding.
In Zion National Park in southwest Utah, a desperate search is underway for a hiker who was reportedly swept away by flood waters as season rains hit the area.
The rain, however, has been a welcome relief in many areas that have been dealing with record-breaking temperatures and severe drought conditions.
As Jennifer Johnson reports, the heavy rain has been too much in many regions.
