Plenty of bands have soldiered on after a core member died, especially if they know it’s what the deceased bandmate would have wanted, and they will often even write beautiful tribute songs about them. However, sometimes a musician is so crucial to a band’s sound and image that it just wouldn’t be the same group without them, so they break up for good. Maybe they’ll reunite for special events, and they’ll all go on to do other projects, but they’ll never be the band that they once were.
