Tamarakkad Govindan Namboothiri - Triple Centenary Celebrations Day 3 - 18.09.2022

Gaanapriya Foundation organised a special series of concerts in September to celebrate the centenary year of three great Mahāvidvān-s, Sri Palghat K V Narayanaswamy, Sri T M Thyagarajan and Sri M D Ramanathan. These concerts were all held at Indira Ranganathan Trust, Chennai. The artistes invited to perform for these concerts were either direct disciples of these Mahāvidvān-s or were deeply influenced by their musical ethos. On the third and final day of the series, on the 18th of September 2022, Sri Tamarakkad Govindan Namboothiri offered an exquisite musical tribute to Mahāvidvān Sri M D Ramanathan. Sri Govindan Namboothiri has a deep reverence for Sri MDR and his music. He has unconsciously absorbed many elements of Sri MDR's music and thus it was quite apt to invite him to perform this particular concert. His musical explorations were wonderfully augmented by his fellow vidvān-s Sri R K Shriramkumar and Sri K Arun Prakash.
