There's been a long-time debate in the fitness community regarding clean versus dirty bulks. On the one hand, clean bulks keep you close to your maintenance calories so you can build muscle slowly without gaining too much fat. On the other hand, dirty bulks put you in a significant calorie surplus to gain muscle faster, but you'll also gain some fat in the process. As someone who has experimented with clean bulking for several years, here's what I learned from my first dirty bulk.
