Modifying The NOEVSBIG 'Scope Stand To Fit My 'Scope

Back in June, 2023, China had sent this helping hands soldering station with microscope mount. It said that it would fit a 'scope with a lens size up to 35mm. I measured mine, and it was reading about 37. Now many times online, I have seen disclaimers that say "allow 1-2mm difference due to manual measurement." So perhaps this was the same way?

The item arrived, and I tried all 3 'scopes that I have, and none of them fit! All of them had lenses just slightly larger than 35mm.

I figured, since it's just a ring of aluminum, I should be able to just slice it to allow a little more room. It turns out it requires a CHUNK taken out to fit those extra millimeters, when it's in a circle. Of course, things didn't go as planned, and I had a tool failure along the way, making this job way more difficult than it ever should have been. But in the end, the stand now fits my 'scope, so it's ready for use the next time I need it--if that opportunity ever comes along!
