DrunkDeer A75 Mechanical Keyboard Review
Originally recorded June 20, 2023.
This keyboard from DrunkDeer is a 75% form factor (missing the number keypad), which makes it great for smaller system, laptops, or anywhere you don't have space for a full-size keyboard. The keyboard is wired and hooks up via USB-C, and a USB-A (standard USB) to USB-C adapter is included. It's RGB backlit, many modes to choose from, and the backlight is also customizable using the driver software. Keycaps for Mac and Windows machines are included, along with a keycap removal tool.
The keyswitches themselves are a non-clicky linear switch that use a magnetic Hall Effect sensor for actuation. The actuation point can be adjust on the fly with no software needed, from 0.4mm to 3.6mm. This means you can have a very light touch to very heavy touch, bottoming out the keys, before they will register, and as stated, it's all adjustable on the fly. Keys are butter smooth in operation, the entire unit is solidly built.
Backlighting modes are plentiful and produce a really nice display. Through the driver software, you can adjust all of that, adjust the Caps Lock indicator, and also set up macros.
