Painting my Stair Rail!

🏡 I'm doing updates on my own home and I came across a unique solution that I thought could help a lot of others. I have a metal stair rail and before I updated it I thought I could replace it. Then I found out how much a new stair rail system would cost. Waaaay to rich for me!

I decided to give painting a try. What could I lose? Good news, it turned out fantastic! My stair rail went from a dated, old white and gold mess to a black faux-iron color much more in line with current popular designs! Not only did I save a BUNCH of money, I believe i came out with a better looking railing than originally planned!

I realize this is a niche problem for home-owners and DIYers but I'm wiling to bet it could help at least a couple of you out there. Just so you know, I went through about 8 or 9 cans of spray paint. I spent about $60 and a little bit of my time and I came out ahead with a gorgeous railing that my wife was super excited about!

Be sure to use TEXTURED paint. Use what ever color you want, but it needs to be textured and have a matte finish, otherwise it could turn out looking tacky.
