Player Breakdowns: How Does Luke Kennard Fit In Ty Lue's Offense?

On draft night, the Los Angeles Clippers traded sharpshooter Landry Shamet to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team deal that saw the Clippers get back Luke Kennard. While Kennard is a year older than Shamet, he also provides a higher offensive ceiling.

A glimpse of that ceiling was seen during a great but albeit short season for Kennard. He averaged 15.8 points, 4.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 28 games for the Detroit Pistons while shooting 44.2% from the field and 39.9% from three.

Kennard is a career 40% three-point shooter, so the Clippers shouldn’t lose too much there with the departure of Shamet. However, the increase in playmaking and ability to take the ball to the rim are things the team should enjoy.

In this video breakdown, we’re going to look at just some of the ways the Clippers might be able to use Luke Kennard, and who he actually compares to in the NBA as an offensive player.

Enjoy and stay safe!
