Experience Hong Kong in Time Lapse 2013

This is the second of two time-lapse videos that I shot in Asia during the Southern Spring of 2013. After having spent 4 days in Singapore on a family vacation, I returned back to Melbourne for three days in the office before heading up to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is a former British colony that is now a Special Administrative Region of China. A city of over 7 million inhabitants in an area of approximately 1,100 square kilometres, this city is one of the most densely populated in the world. Its geographical boundaries are clearly locked in by the sea and the surrounding hills, which means that development can only go in one direction… up.

I spent 6 days in this Asian mega city, mostly in Kowloon, taking in what the city offered to visitors. It is served by a super-efficient mass rapid transit system, and has affordable cabs available for hire all the time. I felt that the main draw card for this city was its harbour – not as pretty as Sydney’s, but very interesting nonetheless, especially with its daily Symphony of Lights show visible from Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon.

I shot over 4,700 individual frames on this trip. This time-lapse video is made from 4,683 of those frames that I shot.

(This has been remastered from a previous release).
