Cambodia - Captive Customers at the Tonle Sap Lake Flooded Forest

This was shot during my trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia in November 2017. I'm going to acknowledge that Cambodia is very poor, and is still in a phase of rebuilding after years of war. The population is very young, and tourism is one of their biggest revenue generating industries.

During a trip through the floating villages and flooded forests, my travel companion and I were greeted by a young woman selling drinks on the lake. She was extremely friendly. It was the beginning to a process to get you buy pencils and notebooks for children in a school - with a not so subtle attempt to offload more than you intended to purchase or extend your charity.
