2021-01-08 Mei Xiang ~ Xiao Qi Ji's Playmate, Protector, & "Panda"gogue

Day 140 or 20 Weeks Old! #PandaStory ... Mei Xiang and Xiao Qi Ji from 3am to 9am Friday morning, including bonus footage of 23 year old daddy Tian Tian:

Scene 1: Mei Xiang has Qi Ji in the den, nibbling and playing with him ... she takes a short break and appears to want to rest upon her return, but Xiao Qi Ji is wiggly. While she nibbles on him he chews on bamboo, and has eyes for the treat feeder. Mei once again leaves, and Xiao Qi Ji plays with the feeder for a bit before falling asleep.

Scene 2: 5am, Mei bleats as she returns to the den. Mom and cub snuggle, entwined together in twinkie poses, arms over their eyes!

Scene 3: 6:30am Mei arrives in the den and cubbie-naps Qi Ji.

Scene 4: A panda keeper calls out Mei Xiang's name (Mei is in room 2 unseen), and next we see her in room 2's bedroom (for new viewers, this is the 1st time I've shown this room). We also see her sitting in the bedroom from room 2's camera enjoying an early morning treat. (I'll try to remember to post my goofy ascii drawing of the layout in the comments section).

No audio was available, but it looked like she heard something, and hurried to check on Qi Ji in the playpen.

Scene 5: After sitting with him for a bit, she was up and awaiting her breakfast, treats, and trip outdoors (ie she was pacing). She kept checking on and waking Qi Ji, and he tried to follow her on the rockwork ledge. Then we see 3 bursts of cubbie-trots from Qi Ji!

Bonus Scene 6: Daddy Tian Tian outdoors in yard 3/4, some of you may know it as Bao Bao or Bei Bei's yard.

Scene 7: The camera returns to shows Qi Ji sleeping in the den, making his sleep vocalizations.
