The UDAN Scheme 2.0, approved by the Union Cabinet, aims to enhance regional air connectivity across India with a budget of Rs. 28,840 crore. This scheme will develop 100 airports and 200 modern helipads, improving accessibility in underserved areas, especially in remote, hilly, and island regions. The initiative is set to promote affordable air travel, boost economic growth, and support the government’s vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047" while fostering long-term sustainability through financial support for regional operations.
