Grow Your Own Food - Homesteading Couple Builds Raised Bed Terraces on Hill for Three Sisters Garden

Jim Baird: Grow Your Own Food - Homesteading Build, Raised Bed Terraces on Hill for Three Sisters Vegetable Garden. Move to the woods was the plan and that's what we did. We wanted to be self-sufficient and grow corn beans and squash, asparagus as well as other vegetables. Making a fence gate with milled lumber from my Alaska Mill, sho sugi ban fence posts of natural material were build after building raised beds into the hill for a terraced garden. It all added to my self reliance which is the case with DIY projects. The fertilizer we used was locally sourced topsoil - aged manure that we mixed 50/50 with our host soil. It's rewarding to have a garden and we figured initiating some preparedness made sense too. There's a lot to learn about growing vegetables but we had a decent first year and look to increase our garden's output in the coming seasons.
