BACKPACKING SOLO The PACIFIC CREST TRAIL | White Pass to Trout Lake PCT 2022 SOBO // At the beginning of August in 2022, I left the trailhead from Snoqualmie Pass in Washington State and headed southbound (SOBO) along the Pacific Crest Trail towards Cascade Locks, Oregon for a 17 day/250-mile solo backpacking adventure.

Along the way, I’d resupply at White Pass, Washington, Trout Lake, Washington and finish my PCT section hike at Cascade Locks, Oregon.

For the second section of my solo backpacking adventure along the PCT, I set out to hike 67 miles in 4 days towards Trout Lake, Washington. There were SO MANY BUGS in this section. Besides getting eaten alive by all of the bugs, I’d also get to hike up and over the Knifes Edge in the Goat Rocks Wilderness at sunrise, see a family of goats, get clear views of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams and Mount Saint Helens and walk around Mount Adams in the Mount Adams Wilderness area before heading into Trout Lake for my first and only Zero Day of the trip.
