The latest guest with us is Eugene (Gene) Pradas,Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Development with BTS - - Business Telecommunications Services. Eugene’s focus is on identifying and penetrating new markets to improve sales. In this episode we’ll be talking about how to set the right KPIs and succeed in leadership, and of course business development! Gene has spent 40 years in the world of Telecommunications now. He started back when there were telex services and fax and now of course we have Messaging everywhere and digitalization is key. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning play a big part in what is happening all around us, helping to optimize personnel and resources in general. Being efficient is so important today. It’s an exciting industry to be in but there is very much a somewhat community related to each other. Outside of that it can be difficult to explain exactly what we do to friends and family! The industry is growing a lot but there is increasing competition and at the end of the day it’s about keeping the customers happy. It’s the only way for a company to be successful. Technology, monitoring of it and great 24/7 client support is the basis for being able to offer great Telecom related services today.It’s super important to know exactly who your customers are and to have all this logged and tracked accurately. When it comes to leadership the first thing is to know what not to do! Motivations and discipline are key for both oneself and the wider team. A leader has to communicate how important it is to be disciplined and motivated to get the results. The route to the end game is important. Nothing replaces face-to-face contact when it comes to sharing experiences and how others can learn from those. Clear objectives are key to all of this. And focus, focus, focus… Objectives can be varied, from the growth of a company, Areas needed to expand in and of course the bottom line numbers are a great reflection of good performance. Other KPIs include customer experience and some other perhaps not always so quantifiable in numbers areas. Think of social responsibility.
