HOW TO START A BUSINESS IN DUBAI? EASY STEPS TO STARTING A BUSINESS IN THE UAE.

Munir Badr set up his company AEserver in Dubai back in 2005 and we were pleased to have him back with us to this time talk about how one goes about setting up a business in Dubai. Munir’s company is the largest domain name registrar and web hosting company based in the UAE so he knows a thing or two about the business environment in the region and what you need to look out for if you are starting up from scratch over there! It's clear that unlike in many other countries and territories around the world, setting up in Dubai is actually quite easy. It typically takes no more than a couple of days and can even be done within hours. But remember there is more to the UAE than Dubai. The UAE is actually made up of seven different emirates with their own different rules and regulations. The entrepreneurial environment the UAE has been in particular created via its so-called ‘free zones’ - business clusters within cities, focusing on a specific business area or some which are general. But be aware that when starting up, you choose the right emirate to set things up in. It’s tempting (like with so many other things in life!) to go for the cheapest option but that can lead to some serious headaches down the line if you have not thought things out properly. It could mean you actually have to shut your business down totally, release your employees ( who are tied to employment in a specific emirate) etc. if your business expands and you want to move (for example) to a more prestigious area. It’s about future-proofing your company so definitely go into things with your eyes open and have a well thought out plan. Get things right, first time!
