Galaxy S23 Series: How to Uninstall the Galaxy Store App

Since we can't disable the Galaxy Store app on the S23 series, let me show you an ADB command that will remove it from the default user account.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 here, and in today's video I'll be showing you how to uninstall the Galaxy Store app on your device. Not only will this process work for the base model here, but it will also work for the Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra as well.

This same process will also work for almost all of Samsung's smartphones and tablets with the Galaxy branding and it does not require root access.

If we try to uninstall this app through traditional means then you'll notice that we don't have an uninstall option here like we see on other applications. If we go into the App Info page, you'll even notice that the disable option has been grayed out in an attempt to prevent this from happening.

Thankfully, we can execute an ADB command that will uninstall this application from the default user so it will be removed from our home screen, along with our app drawer, it cannot be launched at all, so it will not be running in the background.

This does require that you install ADB and Fastboot tools onto your PC though, and it will require that you enable Developer Mode along with USB Debugging Mode. If you're not familiar with any of these things, be sure to check the video description below as I'll have a link do dedicated videos I have already done that cover each of them.

I do want to give a bit of a warning, though. Removing the Galaxy Store application will prevent you from updating all of the apps that were installed from this source. It's usually not a good idea to have outdated applications on your smartphone or tablet, but if you're okay with this then we can proceed

With all of that setup, you can then connect your Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, or Galaxy S23 Ultra to the PC with a USB cable.

Now let's make sure that ADB has a stable connection to our smartphone by executing the following command. . .
adb devices

As long as you see the serial number of your smartphone here, along with the word device, then that means ADB is able to connect properly. If you don't see that, make sure you have granted USB Debugging Mode access on your smartphone, and then try it again. You may also need to install USB drivers, try another USB port, or a different USB cable entirely.

Once we have make an ADB connection over USB, we can then uninstall the Galaxy Store application from our Galaxy S23 smartphone.

This is done by first dropping into an ADB Shell. . .
adb shell

And then typing out the command. . .
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.android.app.samsungapps

And then pressing Enter on the keyboard

If you see the Success message here then that means the command has been entered properly and you should no longer see the application icon on your home screen or in your application drawer.

This has effectively uninstall the Galaxy Store application from the default user account, which is why we can no longer see it on our Galaxy S23 here.
