Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Benakanhalli, Belagavi celebrated the School 9th Annual Day on March 1, 2019

Lt. Gen. Ramesh Halgali PVSM, AVSM, SM (Retd), Former Deputy Chief of Army Staff was the Chief Guest.
The programme of Anniversary started with the lighting of lamp. Many meritorious students received prizes and certificates. Mrs. Anita Killekar, Senoir Master was honoured with the Best Teacher Award by the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion Lt. Gen. Ramesh Halgali said that Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Benakanhalli, Belagavi is producing best of the students. He appreciated the efforts of the Chairman Sri Siddharoodh G Sangolli ,the worthy Principal and the faculty of the School for providing distinguished and very fine quality education to the Children. He promised the parents that Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Benakanhalli, Belagavi will produce great leaders of modern India in the times to come. He showered praise on the Principal and the faculty for building in every child great attributes of knowledge, wisdom and human qualities. He further added that Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Benakanhalli, Belagavi is only 9 years old and for its achievements, it can be revered. He said that the best of the army Officers, doctors, engineers, pilots, writers, painters, architects and scientists of the country will emerge from this prestigious School. He requested the parents to nurture this dream for their children and sustain it.

The parents joined the Chief Guest Lt. Gen. Ramesh Halgali PVSM, AVSM, SM to give a loud ovation to the Principal and the faculty of the School for their excellent and outstanding work they are doing.

He reminded the parents of their responsibility at home. The parents are the Lords, the Gods, the ‘Devathas’ for the children. Children watch parents, observe them. How parents talk, how they behave, how they conduct themselves and what they read impacts them. The simple qualities of living like “I they will not lie, I will not cheat, I will not steal” need to be practiced by every parent at home to ingrain it in every child. These children, groomed on these lines, will be like our national leaders Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.

The diya starts at home. He goaded the gathered parents of the School to make every effort to transmit and emancipate every fine quality the child has in him.
He pleaded the parents never to raise their voice against dear ones, elders and children at home. Children do not forget, they love us and they acquire the insinuation and propensity to generate near similar qualities like the parents. We expect from our School, the faculty the attributes that make our children worthy, being strong and can be designated as the finest. Each student here in this School has demonstrated great qualities of studentship.

He narrated, very interestingly, the adventurous life of Alexander the Great, the king of Greece. Alexander the Great was wounded and defeated by Indian King Porus. Alexander, the greatest and mightiest emperor and general of the world died empty handed. His commitment, his duty and his honour for his country remained supreme. These are the virtues that parents should share with children.
In continuation, he said that parents should be proud and lucky that the attributes of strong leadership, correctness, propriety, knowledge and good qualities of human living is taught to their children in a premier institution like Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Benakanhalli, Belagavi. This School has achieved this reputation in nine years and in another two or three years, this will be one of finest Schools of India.
The Chef Guest of the evening function, Lt. Gen. Ramesh Halgali referred to three important areas. The first one is inculcating Value System in our children. The Second cardinal point, he said, is digitalisation, Technology and computerization. He was happy to see the School Computer and Internet Centre. Student at the School sit in front of the computer and modernise themselves. Technology is the future. He expressed his happiness over the faculty of the School who themselves are good at computers and train the students for surfing the internet, how to extract knowledge and use it to understand the curriculum. He complimented the staff and students for upgrading the skill, using the technology as a force multiplier and become stronger in the field of technology.
He thanked Sri Siddharoodh G Sangolli, the Chairman of the School, the Principal and the faculty for inviting a humble soldier for the annual day function.
