"My people started looking at my child as a problem in the family", says Mary Iculet, whose child has clubfoot. Mary was rejected by her husband and family when her child's disabilities became apparent, forcing her into extreme poverty. "I was really frustrated and developed an urge to kill this child, because I had nowhere else to go." Rosemary hopes that female empowerment could hold the answer to changing attitudes about disability.
