Detective Eric Matthews was the first cop who was ever able to lead the police force directly to Jigsaw, but his troubled past ended up throwing him and his teenage son, Daniel Matthews into the danger of one Jigsaw's nefarious traps.

In this video I'll be analysing the characters of both Eric and Daniel Matthews as I go through their stories chronologically and explain the lives of this perturbed father and son pair. From their introduction in Saw II, to the backstory expanded upon in Full Disclosure Report, to the life-altering events of the Nerve Gas House Game, to the final confirmed mention of the characters during the trial of Daniel Rigg in Saw IV, this video will leave no stone unturned while explaining the lives of these characters.

I'll also give my thoughts on how one of them could have an impact on the Saw franchise going forward, whether that be in the upcoming movie Spiral or beyond... or how they've already possibly come back in Saw VII...

I'll also share my headcanon ideas on why Eric Matthews was treated as he was during the events that took place a Gideon Meat Packing Plant and reveal the actual order of events that may not have been obvious upon watching the series.
