Visit Dashur - Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid

Welcome to our YouTube channel, where today we're going to be taking you on a journey to the Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid in Dahshur, Egypt. These pyramids are located around 40 kilometers south of Cairo.
We started our day in Cairo, where we decided to rent a car for around 80 dollars so we could explore the area at our own pace. As we approached the pyramids, we drove through rural areas where we got a glimpse of how everyday Egyptians live. The road was a bit bumpy, but it was all worth it when we arrived at the archeological area. We paid our ticket and we were in.
The first pyramid we visited was the Red Pyramid. It was built by the Pharaoh Sneferu, who ruled Egypt around 2575-2551 BC. The Red Pyramid is considered to be the first successful attempt at building a true smooth-sided pyramid. It was originally called the "North Pyramid" because it was the northernmost of three pyramids at Dahshur. It is also the third largest pyramid in Egypt, after the pyramids of Khufu and Khafre at Giza. The pyramid has three known chambers: the subterranean chamber, the queen's chamber, and the king's chamber. The subterranean chamber was cut deep into the rock and was intended as a tomb for the pharaoh. The queen's chamber and the king's chamber were intended as the final resting place for the pharaoh's mummy and were both located in the pyramid's core. The pyramid has several narrow passageways that lead to these chambers.
After visiting the Red Pyramid, we moved on to the Bent Pyramid. This pyramid was also built by Sneferu and it is believed to be the second of his two pyramids at Dahshur. The Bent Pyramid is called so because its upper section is bent at a shallower angle than its lower section. This pyramid is unique because it has two entrances, one at the base and one at the top. Inside, there are two narrow corridors that lead to the burial chamber. The pyramid also has several other chambers, including a descending passage, an ascending passage, and a satellite pyramid. The pyramid was intended to be a tomb for the pharaoh and his consort, but it is not known if it was ever used for this purpose.
It was an unforgettable experience, The less tourists than in Giza make it a more peaceful and intimate experience with the pyramids. Thank you for joining us on this journey and we hope you enjoyed it. These pyramids are not only architectural masterpieces but also a window into the past, where we can learn about the history and culture of ancient Egypt. The chambers inside the pyramid were intended to protect the pharaoh's mummy and to provide a place for the pharaoh's spirit to reside in the afterlife.
It's worth noting that there is a third pyramid at Dahshur, called the Black Pyramid, which was also built by Pharaoh Sneferu. However, it is in a much more ruined state and is not open to the public for visiting. The Black Pyramid was built at the same time as the Bent Pyramid, and it is believed that it was also intended to be a tomb for the pharaoh. However, unlike the other two pyramids, the Black Pyramid was not built with a smooth exterior and it is believed that it was never finished. Despite its ruined state, it is still an interesting site to see from a distance and add to the understanding of the pharaoh's building experiments.
