Egypt SCAMS but SAFE ?
Hello and welcome back to our channel! Today we're going to be reacting to two videos about safety in Egypt. The first video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaIq1q-t9go made by a popular creator, has a very alarming title and thumbnail, suggesting that Egypt is an ultra-dangerous place to travel. On the other hand, the second video, 👍 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23b35QKEF88 made by a different creator, shows him walking around poor areas of Egypt with his phone practically falling out of his pants, trying to see if anyone would snatch it. In the end, nobody stole his phone, leading him to suggest that Egypt is a safe place to visit.
Now, we all know that opinions can be contradictory , and it can be difficult to discern what the truth really is. So, let's start by addressing what we like and don't like about the first video. First and foremost, we do not deny that there are many scams in tourism in Egypt. In fact, we have plenty of videos on this channel about how to avoid scams in Egypt, how to visit the pyramids without rip offs etc. So, it's clear that the country has room for improvement in this area.
However, what we don't like about the first video is that the negativity is overblown for pure clickbait. If you just read the title and the thumbnail, you'd be too scared to even consider traveling to Egypt. But, in reality, there are many countries with higher crime rates than Egypt, such as Mexico and Brazil, and even the United States.
If we're talking about physical security or theft, Egypt is much safer than the metro in cities like Rome or Paris. Of course, it's always important to exercise caution and use common sense when traveling, but let's not perpetuate the idea that Egypt is an ultra-dangerous place.
Now, let's move on to the second video. While we appreciate the creator's attempt to show that Egypt is safe, we have to acknowledge that his experiment was not scientifically sound. Walking around with a phone hanging out of your pants is not a great way to gauge the safety of a place. It's also important to remember that just because nothing happened to him on that particular day, doesn't mean that it couldn't happen to someone else in a different situation.
We believe that it's important to be honest about the challenges and dangers of traveling to any destination, including Egypt. However, we also believe that it's important to keep things in perspective and not exaggerate or sensationalize the risks. As with any travel destination, it's essential to do your research, exercise caution, and be aware of your surroundings. Thank you for watching, and we'll see you in the next video!
