Sailing in Scotland 2020

Video showing our family travels whilst sailing on the West Coast of Scotland. Our journey took us from Gairloch, Loch Ewe, Gruinard Island then crossing the Minch to the Shiant Islands. We then went through the Sound Of Harris to the West Coast of Harris exploring Taransay before returning to Gairloch via Red Point near Loch Torridon.
During the trip we were fortunate enough to see Minke Whales, Dolpins and Seals along with lots of birdlife.
4:22 The slightly blurry image is due to the interphase of fresh water and sea water. The large number of jellyfish cannot venture into the upper layer of fresh water. Really cool to 'safely' skim over the jellyfish in the seawater layer below us
11:18 A shoal of Herring fry are getting eaten from above and below by seabirds with a whale taking the occasional mouthful.

The boat is a Contest 34 from 1978. 42 years old and still going strong, engine changed in 1997. Not the fastest sail boat but good when the weather turns rough.
