In this video I will dive into a marketing strategy for your ecommerce store.
I will show you how to quickly grow on Google using a technique I developed called the Slingshot.
In this session we will cover:
1) The fastest strategy to skyrocket ecommerce traffic on Google.
2) How to apply the slingshot strategy quickly and easily
3) How to double the exposure you get for your ecommerce store.
The fastest way to grow your ecommerce store on Google is to get links to your product pages. Most people know the most basic formula for ranking on Google and getting Google traffic in order for people to buy your product is to have a combination of two things.
1) Content (in this case your product pages)
2) Links (to power up your product pages)
The ideal scenario is to get links to all your product pages in order to grow your ecommerce store.
However, the biggest ecommerce problem is people don’t want to link to you, particularly product pages.
This is such an issue that most people settle with getting a few links to the homepage and never get any traction.
Instead do this in order to gain juice to every product page.
- The objective is to make the content appealing to link builders / webmasters.
- You can place slingshot content anywhere on the web.
- Slingshot content can also be on your site’s blog or on sister sites that you own.
- Slingshot content can (and should) contain multiple links to different products.
Let’s further explain this method with an example of Slingshot content.
Example 1: Guide To Building.
This is when you write a guide on building a product in your industry using all the parts you sell. Inside the guide, link to every product that you recommend using to complete the build.
Example 2: Guide To Goal.
This is when you write a guide on reaching a goal in your industry using all the parts that you sell. Inside the guide, link to every product that you recommend using to complete the build.
Example 3: Guest Posts.
This is when you provide an article on an other website in order to acquire backlinks. The article ideas have to be of interest and contain value to increase your chances of it being published… here are some ideas
- Fitness: How to lose weight without dieting using 5 supplements.
- Hobby: Guide to restoring a Mustang on a budget.
- Appliances: Host the ultimate BBQ party this weened.
- Home: Setting up the perfect home garden
The general concept of the Slingshot technique is to first create it and post it online (either on your website or an other website) then link back to your products first and then sometimes if I want people to have a choice of options I would like to a category page.
This is how you pass on juice to all your products in a way that is natural and google loves.
Here are some examples of where you can post your slingshot content.
1) Instructables: Post your guide in instructables (Warning: These are Nofollow links, however, it gets people buying your stuff and can help with ranking!)
2) Forums: Post your guide on an industry forum.
3) Reddit: Post your guide on a relevant subreddit
4) Related Guest Post: Industry sites love guest posts and even if you have to pay them, it can be worth it!
