The US, UK and Australia are setting up a trilateral security partnership aimed at confronting China. The pact will include helping Australia build nuclear-powered submarines. The United States and Britain will share highly sensitive nuclear submarine technology with Australia. Till date, the US has shared the submarine technology only with Britain. With summits like Quad and now ‘AUKUS’, Biden is racing to unite allies against China. Australia and other US regional partners like India need America to retain a strong military footing in the Indo-Pacific against China.
