Filters VS Post - An introduction to using filters in photography
A short introduction to the importance of filters and how they are able to manipulate light in ways that cannot be replicated in post-production, making filters - at least for some photographers - an essential piece of photographic kit.
The video looks at the three main categories of filters that you are likely to come across, starting with the polariser which should really be in every photographer's bag. It then discusses neutral density filters, variable neutral density filters and finally graduated neutral density filters (the latter being the only filter type that can be reproduced in post-production as long as you shoot two or more frames at different exposures).
