My Revmaster CDI Ignition Issues, Part 1: The Problem

I've been working hard to get my Sonex back in the sky, but some issues with my Revmaster CDI ignition have been keeping me on the ground. (@#&*!) Join me as I work through the system and find the problems contributing to it.

If you're having misses or excessive mag drop on your engine, hopefully this will help you find the solution. (Like I did. Part 2 coming soon!)

(Again, do not attempt to fly the airplane with Wagos installed on your ignition system. Wagos are tested for shock and vibration, but it's not worth the risk. Make sure you use an appropriately rated connector for the rated amperage of the circuit to be used in.

Also, in no way am I knocking or speaking ill of Revmaster Aviation. I have been in contact with Joe, who is typically helpful. This is an early version of the CDI system and newer units shouldn't have all of the same issues. Overall, I'm happy to be sitting behind a Revmaster engine.
