Yasushi is the most amazing Capybara. So charismatic. He loves being pampered and his incredibly long hair rises as he rolls over in ecstasy. I just love the expressions on his face in this video. You can see Aki, No 1 female in the hierarchy, in the background looking very superior keeping an eye on him, making sure the other females don't get too close to him. . All the females at the Bio Park adore him and compete for his attention. He has exceptionally long hair which stands on end when he goes into this pouffy blissful state. His blissful state is rudely interrupted when a child steps on his towards the end of the video.

Capybara are not suitable as pets for most people. They have very sharp teeth and can be territorial. They like mud and they must have somewhere to swim every day. This means somewhere big enough for them to swim, not just a tub of water for them to sit in. They also need a platform or table to rest on because they do not swim the whole time. A capybara in the wild will spend much of the day in water. They also need to be able to roll around in the mud everyday, the mud is good for their skin; a muddy pond is ideal. Don't feed a Capybara candy, or junk food. You should be prepared to get up during the night to make snacks for him.
