The route towards a cashless society | Niklas Arvidsson

Payments in Sweden has a long tradition where action and cooperation between actors have promoted electronic payment services over cash. Today Sweden is on the verge of becoming a cashless society. Some of the reasons are that consumers trust the banking system and like new technologies; that banks and merchants drive this process; and that Fintech companies have been skilled in developing innovative technological solutions that replace cash. Demographics and social media also speak in favor of mobile payment services. We also see critical challenges in this industrial and societal transformation. The speech will outline this transformation and its challenges.
