Form, function and beauty: how design shapes our lives

Design affects us in profound, often unseen ways. Is beauty universal? Does design merely reflect our desires or does it actually change them? How will design evolve? Leading researchers in design, architecture and aesthetics weigh in.

Charlie Gullström Hughes, University Lecturer at KTH School of Architecture and head of the research group KTH Smart Spaces, collaboration between KTH ABE Architecture and KTH CSC Media technology and Interaction Design.

Stina Hagelqvist, Associate Professor in art History at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics at Stockholm University

Konrad Tollmar, Associate Professor at the School of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Deana McDonagh, Professor of Industrial Design at the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois

Crosstalks is an academic web talk show with researchers from two of Sweden’s top universities, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University. An international academic forum on global topics and leading research from the two universities. During three years 117 recognized researchers participated on a variety of topics.
