What is olecranon bursitis?
Olecranon bursitis is inflammation of the fluid-filled sac on the back of the elbow. It can occasionally be caused by a traumatic event, but it often develops from repeated compression, such as resting your elbow on the driver's window of your car.
Olecranon bursitis usually resolves with anti-inflammatory medications and ice, but sometimes it may require injections or surgery to remove the bursa.
